Who we are. Tigel is a personal spending-reflection app operated by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom (the data controller). Contact: privacy@tigel.us.

Local-first by design. Your entries live on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you sign in.

What we store if you sign in. (1) Your email address — used only to authenticate you with a one-time code; (2) a JSON snapshot of your spending history (entries, categories, ratings, settings) — stored so you can sync between devices and restore on a new phone.

Where. Supabase (PostgreSQL), region EU-West (Ireland). Emails with sign-in codes are delivered via Resend from send.tigel.us. The app is served by Vercel; request IPs may appear in short-lived server logs used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

AI parsing. When you use the smart input, the text of that line (and your home town setting) is sent to our server and forwarded to an AI provider (DeepSeek, or Google Gemini as fallback) solely to convert it into structured entries. It is not used to train models by us and is not linked to your identity by the provider beyond processing.

Legal basis (UK GDPR). Performance of a contract (providing sync you request) and legitimate interest (security, rate limiting). No advertising, no profiling, no selling of data — ever.

Retention. Cloud data is kept until you delete it. "Delete cloud data" in Settings physically removes your row from the backups table immediately. Deleting your entries locally and syncing removes them from the cloud copy too.

Your rights. Access and portability — use "Export backup" to download everything we hold in the cloud (it's the same JSON). Erasure — "Delete cloud data", or email us to erase your account entirely. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children. Tigel is not directed at children under 13.
